Whatever your position on the Twitter Files you can’t deny that it is getting a whole lot of attention and opinions are all over the spectrum. I have resisted reporting on the Twitter Files because I don’t have direct access to the Raw Data. I still don’t have access now but I did just submit a FOIA request to the FBI.

I have no idea what the response will be or how much I will get and how long it will take. Since Christmas is just around the corner it will probably be sometime in January. I will provide updates as they become available.

The nature of the FOIA

Specifically, I requested electronic communications between the FBI and Twitter regarding users that the FBI felt may “POTENTIALLY” violate Twitter’s terms of use and documents relating to FBI policy regarding these communications. The request was for 2022 for now, as I am just testing the waters on this. So we shall see.

Why

Mainly because I want to hear from the horse’s mouth. Disgruntled News is not about to become an Echo Chamber for the Left or the Right, or anywhere in between. Any news site can just parrot what others are saying but that’s not the type of reporting you are going to get from Disgruntled News.

I find the fact that the FBI engages with other entities especially social media a little more than curious and why this does not seem to be common knowledge even more curious. Sure one, could just naturally assume that this is a regular occurrence. But popular opinion among those that have been characterized as conspiracy theorists should not be dismissed out of hand.

It’s not easy

It is difficult to disseminate information when there is a metric ton of it, and the journalist has to make what they are reporting interesting.

To characterize the Twitter Files and those releasing the Twitter Files as a Conspiracy Theory is arrogant and dismissive. Whether they are true or not is immaterial to the fact that we have a right to question anything our government does. The government has a duty to avoid even the appearance of impropriety no matter how much of a pain in the derriere it is.
