Here are a couple of Headlines as they appear in a Google Alerts I had set:

Elon Musk ‘orders Twitter to remove suicide prevention feature’ – The Guardian

Exclusive: Elon Musk order removal of Twitter suicide prevention feature, sources say –Reuters

The Disgruntled News is dedicated to not being an echo chamber for the Left, the Right, or anywhere between. It’s essential to have these contrasting viewpoints, in fact, it was once required for the media to show these opposing viewpoints it was called The Fairness Doctrine. But it fell out of favor with Reporters and was viewed as an infringement of the First Amendment.

In the past, I have been guilty of just reading the headlines and I am fairly certain that others have been guilty as well. But headlines are meant to grab your attention and compel you to read the content of the article, not to inform the public. However, if you are inclined to dislike Elon Musk this kind of headline will only make you mad.

For those that might not be aware, the feature being reported on is #ThereIsHelp and it is still very much there. If you click on the Reuters link, the headline changes to Exclusive: Twitter removes suicide prevention feature, says it’s under revamp.

Reuters quotes someone reportedly to be the head of Twitter’s Trust and Safety: ‘After publication of this story, Twitter head of trust and safety Ella Irwin told Reuters in an email that “we have been fixing and revamping our prompts. They were just temporarily removed while we do that.’ “

The entire article reads like an attack piece to discredit Elon Musk, and The Guardia article largely echoes the article from Reuters with a few edits.

This is another example of the type of journalism that will not be allowed on Disgruntled News, none of the reporters bothered to see for themselves if the feature was in fact not working or not, well it is #ThereIsHelp

In a reply to another user Elon Musk had this to say:

1. The message is actually still up. This is fake news.

2. Twitter doesn’t prevent suicide.

As the headline for this article says, “Don’t just read the headlines,” read the article itself and even then take it with a grain of salt. Not everything you read is accurate and if it’s important to you research it.
